Awake and Alive

Next Online Group - Sunday June 23rd - "Responding to the Letter" a unique look at the life of Daniel

Over the past few months we have been in Jeremiah 29 considering the fuller context of the famous "For I know the plans I have for you" in verse 11. That awesome promise was spoken at the BEGINNING of the Babylonian captivity in which an entire generation would likely die in captivity before their children/grand children would leave. In verse 7, God tells the captives "Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

We will continue to turn our attention to one of the people who lived out many of the principals we talked about this past semester as we dive into the book of Daniel and the story of exiles who used their lives living out the letter written to them in Jeremiah 29. We'll be spending the summer doing a slow walk through portions of the book and gleaning how we might follow Daniel's example as we too, live out our lives in a culture similar in some ways to his own.
